Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set Photos and 2026 Release Details

Excitement is building for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series starring Tom Holland. Recently leaked set photos from Glasgow, Scotland, where filming began in August 2025, have fans buzzing about what’s in store for Peter Parker. The images reveal a vibrant New York City backdrop, including a construction site sign hinting at a December 2027 timeline, placing the film before Avengers: Doomsday in the MCU’s Phase Six.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, navigating a world where no one remembers his identity following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The new Spidey suit, teased by Sony Pictures and Holland himself on social media, sports a classic comic-book-inspired design with vivid reds, blues, and a larger spider emblem, evoking the styles of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s costumes. The suit most resembles Andrew Garfield’s from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The cast is stacked with returning and new faces. Zendaya reprises her role as MJ, and Jacob Batalon is back as Ned Leeds, though their roles may be limited due to the memory-wipe spell from No Way Home. Jon Bernthal joins as Frank Castle/The Punisher, bringing a gritty, street-level dynamic, while Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Michael Mando reprises his role as Mac Gargan/Scorpion. Newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas add intrigue, with fans speculating Sink could play Jean Grey or another key character.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises a “fresh start” for Peter Parker, focusing on street-level crime rather than multiversal chaos. The film, inspired by the 2008 comic storyline, is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

With production underway, set images are hinting at potential villains like Mister Negative. This could suggest a popular fan theory of Spider-Man, Daredevil, and The Punisher having to team up to take down Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, who has returned to a rage Hulk because of Mister Negative. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be an emotional and action-packed chapter for Holland’s web-slinger. Stay tuned for more updates as filming continues
